Selflessness: Help your fellow partner and teammate in need of direction.

 The Salemurai is always there to lend a hand to his clan in times of need or when there is lack of direction. He does not allow his clansmen to become a slacker or slug but, shows them the way to success. Its much better to struggle and survive than to sink and drowned. By extending a hand it increases the strength of the Salemurai’s Brand.


Respect: Show respect and courtesy, Respect yourself, and others will respect you.

A Salemurai doesn’t just show up on time to an appointment but, on time and prepared! He never wastes the Emperor’s time for he knows that it is of great value. By showing this respect and courtesy to the Emperor he will respect and be courteous to you. Respect and courtesy are weapons against the war on the Clan of Procrastination.

Courage

A Salemurai faces the fear of denial even when it is difficult or intimidating you don't give up. Try new things and admit mistakes.

 The Salemurai is always ready and willing to fight and do battle with Emperor’s mortal enemies Fear and Failure from the evil Clan of Procrastination. By being denied a sale the honorable thing is to admit that he made mistakes and find where it went wrong. By learning from this and making sure it doesn’t happen again in thefuture. By not giving up you’ve already won 90% of the battle the other 10% is follow through. In the 21^st Century things change rapidly and you need to be willing to try and adapt to new things.

The Right Decision

 A Salemurai does the right thing or makes the right decision, not because it's easy, but because it's ethically and morally correct. The Salemurai must choose to follow the path which leads to doing the right thing or making the right decision. No matter what challenges that may lie ahead.

A Salemurai instead of watching TV or the latest movie like a slacker or a slug is preparing for sales calls. By developing familiarity of their product, communicating and connecting with clients, and establishing goals to meet. A Salemurai is a valuable resource for the companies that they do business with. Why because they put the client first and listen to what they want and need.

What The Salemurai Must Live By

When I introduced the “Way of the Salemurai” I spoke of and published the Code. These were virtues that I thought should be the core beliefs of a salesperson. If you haven’t seen the Code read the article “The Way of the Salemurai” below.  Each week for the next nine weeks I am going to expand and discuss one of the nine core virtues of the Code. Salemurai isn’t just a play on words it is a state of mind, body and, soul. These are just ten ethics most of us have known since childhood. Step one is the Code. What is the Code? It’s a set of virtues that the Salemurai must live by to market oneself to accounts, prospects, teammates, and partners. Please feel free to leave a comment good or bad we would love your input.
